June 2027 | One month in the sun
Darren turns 50 by the sea.
A month in a beautiful villa, somewhere between North Spain and South France, with long lazy lunches, warm evenings, great views, and different groups dropping in across a run of June weekends.
The celebration
A golden-month birthday escape with room for everyone to join in.
The idea is simple: rent a gorgeous villa for the month, open the doors to different groups over long weekends in June 2027, and let the whole thing feel relaxed, sunny, and properly memorable.
Jean and I (and of course Stark) are looking to hire a beautiful villa and locate ourselves there for the month of June! We'd love to have you join us for a long weekend (or more) to celebrate my birthday and just enjoy some time together in a beautiful place.
More details on the villa and the weekend plans to come, but we wanted to get this out there early so you can start thinking about it and hopefully save the dates.
We'll cover the cost of the villa - so all you'll need to arrange is your own travel (and perhaps bring a bottle or two!)

June 2027 built around easy arrivals and slow sunny departures.
These are placeholder weekends for planning and RSVPs. More details will follow once we have an idea on numbers and groups and once the villa and invitations are settled.
Opening Weekend
4 to 7 June
Arrival drinks, first pool day, big shared dinner, and a leisurely Sunday lunch before Monday departures.
Second Weekend
11 to 14 June
Market trip, terrace lunch, plenty of time by the water, and one standout evening feast.
Third Weekend
18 to 21 June
The main event: long-table dinner, birthday toasts, warm sunset light, and a properly celebratory night.
Closing Weekend
25 to 28 June
A last round of sunshine, wine, stories, and a gentle finale to the month away.
Villa mood
Still deciding between North Spain and South France...
The final villa is still to be chosen, currently looking for locations near major airports. Current options include somewhere near Barcelona, Bilbao, or Montpellier, but we're open to suggestions! Wherever we end up it will lend itself to the shared brief: beautiful views, warm weather, outdoor dining, and enough space for people to settle into a long weekend properly.

Village markets, pale stone, vines, terraces, and long bright evenings.
North Spain
Atlantic views, dramatic coastlines, green hills, and effortless summer food.

Please let us know if you can make it! Add your name (and if you're replying for your other half), whether you're coming, any weekend(s) that you know are unavailable, and any guests or notes we should be aware of.
Of course, we're aware that this may not be for everyone, and there will be absolutely no hard feelings if you can't make it - just let us know either way! We also won't hold you to your RSVP if things change closer to the time - we just want to get a general sense of numbers and availability to help with planning.
